If you’re looking to move to a new state, Prescott Arizona real estate is definitely worth a look.

The climate is a delightful combination of four moderate seasons with monsoon rains in the late summer and snow in the winter producing an average of 19” precipitation per year.  The high percentage of sunny days each year provides ideal conditions for outdoor recreation opportunities.  The area is well known for its picturesque lakes set in striking pre-Cambrian granite formations and wooded pine forests.  Residents and visitors enjoy miles of hiking, horseback, and mountain bike trails throughout the forests surrounding town.

Prescott is a small thriving city located in the mountains of north-central Arizona only 90 miles, but a world away, from metropolitan Phoenix.  The town is nestled in a scenic valley at the northern edge of the rugged Bradshaw Mountains.  The pine-clad mountains above town reach heights of nearly 8,000ft, but downtown Prescott sits at 5,400ft.

Prescott’s central downtown business district is built around an elm-shaded, traditional courthouse plaza. The historic plaza hosts activities throughout the year ranging from bustling art shows, evening music concerts, antique fairs, and family oriented community events.

Arizona Real Estate

Arizona real estate is very reasonably priced compared to other states. The average home price in Phoenix is in the low $300,000s. Arizona has, however, become a hot real estate market with home values appreciating over 25% in the last 12 months.

Arizona is a take it or leave it state because of the heat index. If you prefer hot, sunny days, Arizona real estate may be a very good investment.

Flagstaff

Unlike Phoenix, Flagstaff is a town that reeks of the more historic Wild West. Sitting on the famous Route 66, Flagstaff is a college town because of Arizona State University. The University, better known as “ASU”, has over 30,000 students who more or less dominate Flagstaff. If you like the feel of a college town, skip Phoenix and consider Flagstaff for your real estate needs.

Prescott!

Watson Lake is located on hwy 89, north of Prescott. The complex has campsites, restrooms, and picnic area. Crappie and Large Mouth Bass can be caught in it's waters. This is a no swimming, no wake lake, making it perfect for canoeing and kayaking. We canoed and kayaked most of the northern shoreline, enjoying the small side canyons, rock features and wildlife. We docked the boats and hiked to an overlook, facing west towards Granite Mountain and the Prescott NF. The weather was perfect in late may.
